Raised by Lemoine in Nancy, France in 1910.
An arendsii hybrid.
Named after the place and battle of Solferino.

ASSESSMENT

An excellent cultivar which has been lost to cultivation in the past but makes a good garden plant with strong stems and beautiful heads of flower.
Should be grown more.
